Or imagine you did well in a low paid job
Got promotion and pay rise 6 months into the job
Then your performance level dropped
Then you keep calling in sick
and your performance level drops more

Have you seen how many goals we've let with living defenders?

(I mean 'fair enough' that Carroll was preferred, not 'fair enough' that Sakho kicked off over it.

Re: Sakho
Sakho started his sulk prior to any of that, so it's all a bit irrelevant.

He started kicking off when Carroll was preferred for the Arsenal game- which is fair enough on two counts. 1) Sakho had been out injured for ages. 2) Carroll scored a hat trick in the game.

Sakho should have sat on the bench and bided his time instead of acting like a little bitch and refusing to do what the manager thought was best for the team.

Also, do you see all the other players going on strike when 'better' players are bought in at their position? Did Collins and Reid kick off when Ogbonna was bought by the club and refuse to play? No they fucking didn't because they are PROFESSIONALS with a GOOD ATTITUDE. I expect Ogbonna earns more than the pair of them too. Did Tomkins refuse to sit on the bench when he wasn't in favour? No he didn't.

Did all the other midfielders go on strike when Payet came in on big wages and took someone's place in the side? No they didn't.

Sakho's attitude has stunk over the last six months. It's down to him to act like a grown up when faced with a challenge.

Re: Sakho
Five tide, you did not finish this hypothesis.

You realise that in fact despite the intention to replace you, you are actually quite good and know that if you keep yourself up to scratch you can get a job elsewhere and on much better money than you are now.

Sakho has made himself a victim by getting grossly out of condition. Had he been match fit he would be at WBA on better wages too.

Re: Sakho
Imagine you get a job in a company, say head of payroll. You transform the role, do it better than the anyone has for ages, and for a year everyone tells you that you are great at managing the payroll. Then the following year, things go a bit stale, and although you still manage the payroll relatively effectively, you no longer do it remarkably. Before you know it, all you hear every moment of every day, in the office and at home, is how desperate your company wants somebody new to revitalise payroll management. They make it clear they're willing to pay four or five times your salary to any stranger who can prove they've managed payrolls well in the past in some other country, but no longer even discuss what you've done int eh past in this very company. So you put in less effort, get wasted with your mates and start wrapping hypercars around trees of a weekend.

Okay, so it's a glib, inaccurate analogy, but it probably not far from Sakho's state of mind. Possibly. Maybe.

When he's good, he's very very good.

When he's poor, he's very poor.

I hope Zaza's the same, and he's good very very soon

Fivetide 6:16 Thu Oct 6
Re: Sakho
No idea what 'world class' means in this context, but given the run of games that Zaza has had (the Italy international), most would have expected Sakho to notch. he's a confidence player and clearly needs a bit of love, but when he is happy he looks like he really enjoys playing football (I like this, and cannot stand the Balotelli/Zaza petulant alternative approach) and is a streaky forward who knows where the goal is and brings others into play.

Just my opinion - I like what he brings. Never said he was Messi.

Re: Sakho
Scored 5 goals last season and attracted West Brom....

Just because he's been missing suddenly he's world class.

Fivetide 5:59 Thu Oct 6
Re: Sakho
I've always liked the cut of Sakho's jib on the pitch, and he massively improves the team.

Also, he was sort of proved right -- paying our tenth choice 'marquee' target from a big club mahoosively more than him achieved fuck all.

El Scorchio 5:34 Thu Oct 6

I'd see Savile as more of a box to box midfielder.

Although he was a prolific scorer....

The idea of Vlad and Sutcliffe at the back is brilliant. Back to the days of rugged defending. I'm assuming you'd play Hitler in the creative role, with Jimmy Saville as the fox in the box? Pol Pot could be the team's utility player.

Eddie B 5:14 Thu Oct 6
Re: Sakho
Private Dancer, he's better than what's there at the moment. I wouldn't give a fuck if we had a team featuring Jimmy Savile, Hitler, Pol Pot, Peter Sutcliffe and Vlad the Impaler, if they could win us matches.

Agreed....who cares about the shit involved...
the sooner Sakho plays our odds of winning games increases.

I hope this cunt does play for us again, and soon. We need his goals. The rest is irrelevant.
